Synonymous with St Moritz since 1882, Leo Trippi was named after our founder’s great-grandfather, Leo Trippi, an esteemed hotelier of his time. We carry forward this legacy that began with a dynasty of four hotels, including three in Pontresina close to St Moritz. Fast forward a century, and we’re continuing the tradition by offering several exclusive rental chalets in St Moritz. With a representative office in the heart of the resort and unrivalled relationships with local partners, we provide unmatched luxury ski holidays in St Moritz.

Luxury Chalets in St Moritz

When it comes to choosing where to stay in St Moritz ski resort, it is helpful to have some knowledge of the layout. Located in Switzerland in the Engadin Valley, the resort is divided into distinct areas, each offering unique features and amenities.

If you like to be in the centre of the action, we recommend basing yourself in the main village area of St Moritz Dorf. Overlooking Lake St. Moritz, Dorf boasts high-end boutiques, gourmet restaurants, and luxury hotels such as the iconic Badrutt’s Palace and the Kulm Hotel. Additionally, there are chic self-catered apartments, such as Lakeside and Cotschna, which provide stylish and convenient bases close to the centre.

Located at a lower elevation along the southwestern shore of the lake, St Moritz Bad offers a more relaxed and residential atmosphere than bustling Dorf.

The hilltop village of St. Moritz, in Switzerland’s Engadin Valley, is one of Europe’s most exclusive ski resorts—here, timeless elegance meets tasteful discretion, all concealed behind the doors of its iconic Art Nouveau hotels and traditional fondue spots.

Luxury Ski Holidays in St Moritz

Exuding a unique charm, St Moritz is known as the birthplace of winter tourism and alpine sports. From Michelin-star restaurants to haute couture, St Moritz is often associated with those who have an appreciation for the finer things in life However, it is also known for its slightly eccentric winter events which include White Turf (horse racing on the frozen lake), Cricket on Ice, the Cresta Run and Snow Polo World Cup. You are just as likely to encounter fur-clad shoppers as sports enthusiasts in St Moritz, all adding to its distinct character.

Nestled in the Engadine Valley at 1,856m, St Moritz enjoys a rare combination of snow and sun reliability. With 87 pistes spanning four large ski sectors plus several smaller sectors, the resort has an extensive ski area which suits both beginners and more experienced skiers.

I’ve visited St Moritz many times over the years, with clients, journalists, property owners and most recently for a short break with my wife. We enjoyed excellent hospitality at the Carlton, relaxing in the spa and sampling the taster menu at Da Vittorio. The snow was superb and we managed to get two solid days skiing at Corviglia, stopping for lunch at Langosteria. Other highlights included dining at Chesa Veglia Patrizier Stuben and chocolate shopping for our children at Hanselmann.
