Located on a plateau above the Rhone Valley, Crans Montana offers an extensive ski area, panoramic vistas and sun-drenched slopes. Its south-facing orientation fuels the resort’s claim to being the sunniest in Switzerland, making it a favourite for those seeking not just good snow but plenty of winter sunshine.

Luxury Chalets in Crans Montana

Stretching along the broad massif of Mount Bonvin, the resort rises to nearly 3,000 metres, offering a scenic and varied landscape.

Crans and Montana, the two main centres of the resort, are located about a mile apart and are linked by a long stretch of low-rise buildings. These modern constructions blend in with the stunning Alpine scenery, though the architecture tends to be more contemporary than the traditional chalet style. Despite their proximity, Crans and Montana retain their distinct identities. Crans is the more upmarket of the two, featuring high-end shops, luxury hotels, and glamorous nightlife, while Montana offers a more relaxed, youthful vibe.

Crans-Montana is a hidden gem in the Swiss Alps—the feeling throughout the town is luxurious, yet understated as well as welcoming, yet refined.

Luxury Ski Holidays in Crans Montana

Crans-Montana’s history as a holiday destination dates back to the late 19th century when it was first established as a health resort. The combination of fresh Alpine air and sunny weather was believed to have therapeutic qualities, attracting visitors seeking the rejuvenating benefits of mountain life. Over time, it has evolved from a peaceful retreat into a luxury ski resort that still retains its tranquil atmosphere.

The resort has long attracted a distinguished clientele. Its most famous resident, the late Sir Roger Moore, epitomised the resort's appeal to those seeking a quieter, more refined ski holiday. Known for its exclusivity, the resort continues to draw in a wealthy crowd who value privacy and sophistication, enjoying the unique blend of luxury and quiet found here.

If you love to shop, Crans-Montana is a true paradise. The resort boasts over 120 high-end shops, with the Rue du Prado offering top luxury brands like Hermès and Louis Vuitton. If you require designer sportswear, Alex Sports is the go-to destination, stocking labels such as Bogner, Escada, Ralph Lauren, and Zegna. Whether you're looking for the latest fashion or high-quality ski gear, you'll find it all in this fashionable town.

Crans-Montana is equally renowned for its skiing. With 140 km of south-facing slopes, it enjoys an abundance of sunshine throughout the winter.

While not as well known as St. Moritz and Zermatt, Crans-Montana has epic skiing and great restaurants. There's nothing like a long leisurely lunch at Chetzeron after a morning's skiing or unwinding in the incredible spa at Six Senses - the perfect way to spend an afternoon!
