Breuil-Cervinia, located at the foot of the iconic Matterhorn, is a high-altitude resort offering excellent snow reliability and access to the extensive Matterhorn Ski Paradise, which connects to Zermatt.

Luxury Chalets in Breuil-Cervinia

The resort of Cervinia and its neighbouring village, Valtournenche, offer an extensive playground for snow sports enthusiasts. Though not the most picturesque of Alpine villages, Cervinia’s charm lies in its functionality and prime location beneath the Matterhorn. Much of the village architecture reflects the post-war era, with a mix of 1950s and 60s buildings that are more practical than beautiful. However, the resort's modern accommodation and facilities ensure comfort and convenience, with most lodging options in Cervinia being within walking distance or a short shuttle ride to the slopes.

Perfect for intermediate skiers, Cervinia is renowned for its vast terrain, over 200km of runs, made for cruising or long, leisurely skiing.

Luxury Ski Holidays in Breuil-Cervinia

Three valleys sprawling across the border of two countries, Italy and Switzerland, make Breuil-Cervinia one of the largest ski areas in the Alps. Stretching from Piccolo Cervino (3,883m) to Valtournenche (1,524m), you can ski all day without ever having to ski the same run twice.

What sets Cervinia apart from other resorts is its link to Switzerland. The new Matterhorn Alpine Crossing cable car opened in 2023, provides a seamless connection between Plateau Rosà and Klein Matterhorn, allowing skiers and non-skiers alike to cross the border into Zermatt. The five-minute journey offers stunning views and the chance to experience the slopes of two countries in one trip.

Tucked away in the Italian Alps, Cervinia is a hidden gem with stunning views of the Monte Cervino (the Matterhorn), charming restaurants serving mouth watering Italian cuisine, and quick access to the Matterhorn Glacier Express for all year skiing. With the new lift crossing in place, a day trip to Zermatt for lunch is also a must, as well as a visit to the Glacier Ice Palace on the way.
