Les Gets is one of the most picturesque ski destinations in the French Alps, offering a blend of traditional Alpine charm and modern amenities. Nestled in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, a vast ski area spanning both France and Switzerland, Les Gets boasts 600 kilometres of pistes, making it an ideal destination for ski enthusiasts of all levels.

Luxury Chalets in Les Gets

Les Gets ski resort stands out for its charming village, which retains much of its traditional Alpine character. Unlike some purpose-built ski resorts, Les Gets feels like an authentic mountain community, with low-rise, chalet-style buildings that blend harmoniously into the landscape.

To the left of the central lifts, the village spreads up the hill to Gibannaz, then to Les Folliets at the foot of the Folliets chair, and further on to Les Chavannes. To the right, development spreads up the hill to Lac des Ecoles and the base of the La Turche drag lift. Down the hill on the outskirts of the village is the second lift base of Les Perrieres. Shuttle buses link all these areas together including the hamlet suburbs dotted around the hillside, providing easy access to both the ski area and your luxury ski chalet in Les Gets.

Les Gets is a family-friendly resort for beginners as well as for more accomplished skiers looking for endless intermediate terrain. It’s a good-looker: a classic Savoyard farming village with modern chalets that all blend nicely into the bucolic setting.

Luxury Ski Holidays in Les Gets

Situated between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, Les Gets is part of the vast Portes du Soleil ski area. With its stunning mountain scenery, welcoming village atmosphere, and convenient location, Les Gets has become a top choice for luxury ski holidays and family vacations alike.

The village is compact, making it easy to walk around and explore its many shops, bars, and restaurants. The town's centre, known as the Front de Neige, is lined with convenient amenities and ski lifts, making it a popular gathering point for visitors. Families, in particular, are drawn to the area due to its quiet and welcoming atmosphere, beginner-friendly slopes, and child-focused activities.

I've been lucky enough to visit several resorts in the French Alps but Les Gets always stands out. It's the perfect blend of traditional Alpine charm and family-friendly convenience. I particularly like the authentic feel of the village - it's the ideal setting for a relaxing ski holiday.
