Located in the Tarentaise Valley, within the Savoie department of southeastern France, Courchevel Le Praz is the lowest of the four villages that make up Courchevel. Set on a plateau at the foot of wooded slopes, it epitomises an authentic mountain village and provides direct access to Les 3 Vallees, the world’s largest ski area.

The resort is situated at an altitude of 1,300 metres above sea level, with slopes rising to 3,230 metres at the Sommet des 3 Vallees.

Courchevel Le Praz is just 140 kilometres from Geneva Airport, with a transfer time of around two and a quarter hours. Other nearby airports include Chambery, Grenoble, and Lyon. You can also fly into Courchevel Altiport. The nearest train station to Courchevel is Moutiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains, which is just 17 kilometres away.

With 85% of slopes in Les 3 Vallees situated above 1,800 metres, Courchevel Le Praz offers access to excellent snow cover. Additionally, 60% of slopes are equipped with snow-making facilities, ensuring consistent conditions, even towards the end of the season.

Whilst the Courchevel Le Praz ski area is small and lacks a nursery slope, it is well serviced by two lifts that connect you to the wider Courchevel ski area where there are two main nursery areas: one in 1850 and the other in 1650. There are also dedicated beginner areas dotted around the mountain, known as ‘ZEN’ zones.

With its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, Courchevel Le Praz is an ideal destination for families. The Family Flex package offers skiing at children’s rates for all family members, with free skiing for children under five. There is excellent access to the main ski area, and the Western Ski Park at the top of the Ariondaz gondola is especially popular with children. Off the slopes, families can enjoy a variety of activities, such as dog sledging, tobogganing, and ice skating.

Non-skiers staying in Courchevel Le Praz can enjoy a variety of alternative winter activities throughout the villages of Courchevel, including glacier hiking, snowmobiling, and Aquamotion - a fantastic spot for bad weather days, featuring a 25-metre swimming pool, and a dedicated play area for children and toddlers. In the summer, visitors can try mountain biking, canyoning, golf, and horse riding. Courchevel also has seven designated fishing spots, including Lac du Praz.

December is a magical time to visit Courchevel, where festive lights and music create an enchanting atmosphere for evening strolls through the Christmas markets. Another winter highlight is the International Fireworks Festival in February, where pyrotechnic artists light up the Alpine sky with dazzling displays. In the summer, the local market takes place every Tuesday, along with exciting events like the Dynastar X3 Mountain Triathlon, Fete de la Musique, and Bastille Day celebrations.
