What the Press are Saying
"La Fenice translates from Italian as “the Phoenix” — a fitting name for this eye-catching chalet, rescued from dereliction by its new British owners. Built in 1936, it sits alone on a prominent knoll above Cervinia, with Monte Cervino’s southern face towering above it — and offers the kind of luxury that used to be confined to Courchevel, Verbier and Val d’Isère."
The Times
Unsurpassed luxury in Cervinia.
First built in 1934, Chalet La Fenice has been transformed from a stone-built chalet into an incredible Alpine retreat with all the facilities you could ever dream of. High above Cervinia, surrounded by wild-flower meadows and waterfalls on the slopes of the Matterhorn, the chalet's setting is sublime ensuring complete privacy. The ski lifts are just a short drive from the chalet although experienced skiers can traverse directly from the chalet to a gentle blue run which takes you down to the main lifts in Cervinia. It is also possible to ride on the in-house Ski-Doo and explore untouched slopes around the chalet.
Set over six floors spanning 1,200sqm, there is plenty of space to spread out and make the most of the entertainment on offer. With five large terraces, two south-facing balconies and unimpeded panoramas from all sides, there are plenty of opportunities to soak up the exceptional views of the surrounding snowy peaks. The entrance to the chalet is located on the lower ground floor via a tunnel. A spacious ski room with ample seating, boot and glove warmers and personal storage for skis, helmets and clothing is also found on this level.
An elevator takes you up to the elegant drawing room which features a two-sided fireplace and several slumber-worthy sunken sofas. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide spectacular views of the Matterhorn. On the other side of the fireplace is the spacious Club Room. Furnished with Italian designer pieces and a custom-made drinks cabinet, this is the perfect spot for an aperitif after a day on the slopes. A well-equipped study is also available for any pressing work e-mails or calls which need addressing.
An atrium divides the main living area from the sophisticated dining room and show kitchen. An extensive wine cellar is home to a range of fine wines and spirits as well as vintage bottles and little-known local wines.
Chalet La Fenice is able to accommodate 14 people plus two additional children across seven en-suite bedrooms. The jewel in the crown is the sumptuous top-floor penthouse bedroom - The Matterhorn Suite - which features an Emperor-size double bed, a bespoke fitted sofa bed that can be converted into two single beds for children and an en-suite bathroom with an enormous bathtub. Two master suites mirror each other on either side of the chalet. These are furnished with super king-size double beds, spacious dressing rooms, private terraces and en-suite bathrooms. Finally, there are four junior suites with king-size double/twin beds and en-suite bathrooms.
There is no shortage of entertainment on offer at Chalet La Fenice. Children and adults alike will revel in the games room which is equipped with a bespoke Etrusco pool table, table tennis and table football, large HD Smart TV, Oculus Quest VR headset and latest Xbox. Last but certainly not least, a Prosimu F1 racing and flight simulator allows for a fully immersive gaming experience.
Tailor-made for relaxation, Chalet La Fenice houses a sunken 10-metre pool featuring a partial glass floor and floor-to-ceiling windows which look out onto the slopes of the Matterhorn. You can also enjoy the magnificent views from a large open-air steel Jacuzzi. Why not unwind in the glass-walled steam and sauna rooms before cooling off in the shower complete with ice-bucket, or enjoy a relaxing massage in the treatment room or work-out in the state-of-the-art gym.
For the ultimate cinematic experience, La Fenice's cinema room awaits. With a state-of-the-art HD projector, advanced surround-sound system, three tiered rows of comfy seating and a full cinema screen, movie nights don't get much better than this.
